Dr. Aneesah Nadir
Dr. Aneesah Nadir has had a fulfilling career as a social worker for over 40 years. She was a social work professor at Arizona State University for over 17 years, and taught at Ottawa University, Gateway and Mesa Community Colleges in Arizona. Dr. Nadir achieved a Bachelor of Social Welfare from Adelphi University, a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University, and a PhD in Social Work from the Arizona State University School of Social Work. She continues to mentor social work students today.
As the owner of Dr. Aneesah Nadir & Associates she provides diversity and inclusion training and education, program development and speaks publicly on the subjects. Dr. Nadir serves as the President and a cofounder of the Islamic Social Services Association-USA (ISSA-USA); a national non-profit headquartered in Arizona which provides mental health education and advocacy.
Dr Nadir coordinates ISSA-USA’s Sakinah Healthy Marriage Initiative and the Annual National Healthy Muslim Marriage Week to bring awareness to the importance of Healthy Marriages and Families in the Muslim Community.
Dr. Aneesah Nadir’s course “Before the Nikah Marriage Preparation Course” and other premarital education programs is offered through the Before the Nikah Institute, a division of her company. “Real Talk Before The Nikah”, her book pending publication in the summer of 2021, is based on two decades of work in the field of marriage preparation and education.
